RIP EddieVan Halen did not play the United Kingdom much during their career. Their last schedule show in the UK was in 1998 and it got cancelled. They played the United Kingdom last in 1995 opening for Bon Jovi on Bon Jovi's Stadium tour there. I actually don't think they ever played a single show in Ireland over their nearly 50 year career.
I am paying tribute to EVH by listening to his first album (Van Halen). I never really heard anything of them before, apart from JUMP....but this album is worth a listen. Was listening to Jamie's Cryin and thought, hello, im sure this is the song that Tone Loc must have borrowed the riff for Wild Thing from. Did a wee bit of research, and sure enough, i was right

RIP Eddie. Ive been obsessed with the first few albums since 99 when i was a sr. in HS. the Roth reunion album A Different Kind of Truth was sorely underrated. also, i dont buy that he reached out to Michael Anthony for one final tour, earlier this year. Nor do i buy that Hagar and he made peace earlier this year. Hagar would have been self promoting the fuck out of that when it happened.
we've all known about his cancer diagnosis since 2015 when the final tour ended. that never stopped Hagar from talkin up "new tour!" before. i've heard the stadium rumors too, the alternating sets featuring dave and sammy etc. i know wolfgang kind of has his own thing going on but i can't see dad telling his only son to sit this tour out.
