This is very, very cool. In Canada the Tragically Hip are a national treasure. Their singer and lyricist Gord Downie died a few years back and their final show was broadcast nationwide and watched by 1/3 of the country.
Last week they were given an award for their charitable work and played a song with the Canadian singer Leslie Feist taking Gords place. First time they’ve played since he died. The song they did is one of my favourites from them, It’s a Good Life if you Don’t Weaken. This one wouldn’t sound out of place on The Unforgettable Fire, and is different then their typical more straight ahead rock sound.
Take a listen, it’s a damn good song.
