In honor of Tony Sirico's passing figured we'd start a super thread.

I've watched the series 10 times through.  Great background show while working from home

If we have any lurkers beware of spoilers . . . or you'll be crushed like Cosette

I have only recently started watching The Sapronos. Never seen any of it before. So many of my freinds rave about it. The first 2 episodes were not my thing, but i stuck with it and im now up to Episode 8 of season 1. Im starting to get into it. I really love anything Mob related.

You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

Nice.   The whole duality of a realistic portrayal of the mafia intertwined with family life is what consistently places it as the critics choice for greatest show ever.

The characters are so rich.

Trivia.   Which two U2 songs play in the background during Sopranos episodes?

A mix of Mysterious Ways at the Bada Bing and Elevation while Carmella and Ade are working out in the gym.

My favourite use of music in the Sopranos other than the theme song are Don't Stop Believin', Glad Tidings, Living on a Thin Line and Evidently Chickentown.  The use of the Stones' Thru and Thru was good as well.

I like the way when Bobby looks to Tony, Tony just nods and smiles in agreement with his enforcer.

The first season really relies on the storyline of the mob boss at a shrink which overstays its relevance in the long arc of the series, but what a great show.  I met Joe Pants (plays Ralphie in a later season) at a Goonies reunion and asked him about Sopranos but i got the impression he considered The Ladykillers to be his greatest work- Ha!
I re-watched the series for the fourth time last year to introduce it to my wife.  She wasn't as impressed but what a damn good show, despite the controversial finale.
It's not a perfect show, but close.  I personally can't stand the dream sequence episodes that David Chase seems to love where it feels like he's obviously shoveling symbolism and philosophy in your face.

As Al Capone used to say "There's nothing worse than a hophead".

No wonder Tony felt deep relief once Chris was gone.
