Much vaunted musicians who should be put in the bin

Exhibit A: Eric Clapton, or Eric CRAPTON as he should be called.

What a frightful bore.

I listened recently to Dire Straits Live Aid rendition of their 1978 hit tune "Sultans of Swing" for the first time in...ages...and I really dug it  - so I got curious and I thought, let's see if I can find some other good live version of this signature tune of theirs, and I found one where they did a version with Eric Crapton. And of course it nowhere near as good as their own version, so I just stopped listening.

His band 'Cream', they were s.hit too.
"There's nothing wrong with U2. As far as I'm concerned, I've stolen from Larry Mullen's career for years. Without Larry, I wouldn't be able to stomp and sing, it'd be difficult. I mean I owe debts to the Bhundu Boys, Larry Mullen, Stewart Copeland. They're good players, and they're great songwriters" - Gary "Reni" Wren, drummer, The Stone Roses reunion press conference, 18/10/2011

"I'd just like to put on record that that's bobbins" - Ian Brown, singer, ditto

Like say with Broad Dulling - one of his few half-decent songs, of the seven thousand he has shitted out - Mr Tambourine Man.

The Byrds version was infinitely better! Because it had melody and proper singing, not whiny nostrilly DRONING. So of the very few decent songs this alleged Holy Saint and Prophet and seer came up with, the cover version was miles better than the original! That's not a great hit rate, is it? It would like if it was revealed that Jesus attempted eighteen thousand miracles and was successful on three occasions. And then one of his Apostles attempted the same miracle on only ONE occasion, but did it better. Well, big fucking deal. We can all get lucky every once in a while. Basic statistics. Like Roulette!!! Simples!

Point proven, I feel.

Next, Plonk Freud.

I don't entirely feel like shitting on young Bobby Dylan, but Eric Clapton is so boring it's painful.  A complete hack.
