This is intriguing. The snippet I've heard of what appears to be the opening is very promising.

I wish they'd stop with these.  The original is a classic, no one listens to the newer versions.  I heard Ed Sheeran was quite upset about his recording for the 30th anniversary version being used for the newest one.

...Ed Sheeran; that's the guy's name.  He is so bland I literally forget his name unless prompted.

I wouldn't say i'm a fan of his music but i gotta give him props. you know the goofy looking ginger only made it big because of his talent unlike the mass produced popsters out there.
been listening to the christmas song he did with Elton a lot this week.

I find his music boring af but I think Castle on the Hill is one of the best songs of the past two decades.

Bono's line in the original is legendary.

All I have to say to anyone listening to yet-another-remake-of-DTKIC is this:

Well, tonight, thank God it's you, instead of me.

Just watched the new 40th video on youtube. kind of cool how they mixed footage/clips from the last 40 years into a new version, but holy shit is this pretentious.  Won't be listening or watching to it again on purpose.  Better off listening to Bob Dylan's christmas album which is known to make children cry in terror.
