After a little break, let’s move on to the lesser known Death Proof.

Not sure if all will be able to find it easily on the different platforms, so the thread will stay up 3 weeks.

SPOILERS included
Underrated IMO.  I almost don't consider this part of his canon of films but as a side project as it was meant to be part of a double bill with Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror under the name Grindhouse, an homage to 70 Grindhouse films.  Film was received poorly at the theater, likely to the fact it was a double feature.  QT almost immediately made a director's cut with a much longer running time and submitted to Cannes.  I can't recall if it was eventually shown in cinemas on its own.
Story-wise its odd in that he introduces a large group of characters in the first half of the film, only to kill them off and then introduces a second large group of characters to carry out the rest of the film.  I believe it works.
This is also arguably the 'sexiest' of his films where all of his fetishes are repeatedly on full display- the toes and the ass shots.  To fans of QT who have wanted him to make a horror film, i would say this is it.
Its also a fairly straight-forward story.  The homage to 70s Grindhouse is excellent including the rushed finish which other have complained about but again makes sense for what he was trying to do as an homage.
MAny say this doesn't feel like a QT film but as a project to re-create a Grindhouse movie, it succeeds.
8/10

I can understand why this gets included (since he did direct as well as write it, after all), but a part of me is like: why this and not From Dusk Till Dawn.

At least I've seen From Dusk Till Dawn.  Speaking of toe shots.

We just went with movies he directed.
