I don't think this is accurate in terms of the age of U2's main fanbase. U2's main fanbase was not formed in 1980, it was formed between 1985 and 1993. So you're talking about people that are today between the ages of 47 to 61. Born from 1963 to 1977. That is solid GENERATION X. 80% of U2 fans today are likely between those ages in the United States.

I've had that conversation with at least a dozen musician friends over the last 15 years. My argument's more the other guy's than Rick's, but I definitely combine elements of both. Every one of those discussions ended with me using the other guy's line: "It's not for you."

A lot of truth going back and forth between those guys, especially the part of how it's weird that careers of artists who came along between the late '60s and the end of the '90s were so long. 8/10, would watch again.
