We are finally getting the original studio version of Mercy according to rumors about the HTDAAB-20 release.

As we all know, a nearly-complete version was leaked on Youtube a long time ago, but the only official version we have ever had was the Wide-Awake in Europe version, with the modified chorus "You wanna kill me/I wanna die/we were made for each other/you and I"

But the original 7 minute studio version was never released, and we don't know how different or similar it is to the youtube leaked version with it's Bongolese-sounding lyrics

I'd be more surprised if they didn't do a Bomb 20th anniversary release. Although I was only expecting a new vinyl and maybe a 1 and 2 disc CD.

As for Mercy (and this comes from one of the bigger defenders of the 00's stuff), I never really took to it, found it very plain. Hopefully if this happens, it will have a new production and be beefed up so I can reassess.

The artwork for an album titled How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb could have been epic.

How did they end up with the steaming garbage b roll photo they went with?

NLOTH was pretty bad, too, but neither were as cringe-worthy as SOI. I swear these guys have NO sense of style or aesthetics.

Agreed, War is perhaps their best album cover (although the album itself isn't even in my top 50%).

I like the roughness (the relative roughness) of the leaked demo (so called demo) we have been living with for the last twenty years.  Easily the best thing to come out of that whole era.
