Lights of Home.

Once again (see NLOTH) I think the album could have been great if the band had stayed true to its vision instead of adding a bunch of shitty songs last minute to please some imaginary mainstream audience. SOEs best songs are introspective meditations on mortality and I wish the whole album could have been like that.

My vote goes to Love Is Bigger. I actually kind of like it, it's got a pretty good chorus and a good bridge. The recurring synth/vocal noise is a little annoying, but other than that it's a nice, catchy tune. I know some people just hate the song though.

I remember when SOE came out, Lights Of Home caught a bunch of crap for the outro chorus which I think is one of the best parts of the song. I haven't seen nearly as much dislike for LOH recently though, hence my voting for Love Is Bigger.

I picked Summer of Love. I think it’s got a very nice vibe and a nice emotional bridge. I feel like it should have been one of their singles, to my ear it’s a radio friendly summer tune. And nobody had to know it wasn’t just a light little beach song.

The bridge on LIBTAAIIW is most excellent. Sadly, the rest of the song just plods along in a rather uninspiring way

Landlady

I dig Bono's more mature and intimate themes regarding love and relationships, plus the instrumentation is more subtle and atmospheric.

I think that bridge is one of the best in U2's canon. It takes a decent song and elevates to greater heights for me.

I went with The Showman. To my ear, it is bowie-esque.....and i dont know anyone apart from me, who remotely likes the tune

When The Showman pops up on shuffle, I usually crank the volume. For many other SOE tracks, I just hit skip.

Having said that, I voted Summer of Love.
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Showman.

To my ears it’s a great tribute to 1978 U2. Kinda refreshing.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...
