No really bad songs here IMO, unlike the last two albums, but Stand Up Comedy is the least good. Crazy and Boots aren't great, and they don't fit with the album, but I still kind of like them. They're fun. SUC is okay-ish but gets annoying after a bit.

How this band chose the worst track on their first album in 5 years to be the lead single, and then performed it in guy-liner on national TV, is a true feat of artistic idiocy.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

It is indeed very difficult to pick anything else than Boots here.

(Although the Fish Out Water
Remix kind of redeems the song…)

So many flawed tracks on this album that at least sound like U2.  The dreaded middle 3 and Breathe have sonically redeemable moments.

I forgot White Ass Now existed. The only interesting part of the song is a tiny electric guitar splash by Edge that briefly appears twice.

gets my vote.    Earnest audiobook effort by Bono. Not U2.

Just over half of this album has the worst songs u2 have ever committed to vinyl. But I chose boots on account of it being more embarrassing than the others.

Its not even close. Boots is truly awful. It is out on its own here
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

In fairness to boots, it does have one redeeming quality; the ‘let me in the sound’ part is decent enough and edge sounds great during it. But the rest of the song is so unimaginably terrible, I think it’s probably the worst tune they have ever done. Worse, even, than ahimsa, shave me and the football song.

The worst part of boots resembles extreme Flatulence

SUC on the other hand sounds like really bad diarrhea,  in fact listening to it almost feels that way.

Crazy tonight has the sound and feel of someone puking their guts out the morning after.

Voted Crazy tonight. I don’t like the melody, don’t like the arrangement… the remix was surprisingly good, live.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

Boots because of how offensive it was to hear the band who wrote "One" and "Please" shout about sexy boots and a bunch of nonsense lyrics. If there is one moment where the band truly lost it, it was when they released this as a first single. SUC is also offensive in how inoffensive and pedestrian it is but it is not embarrassing at the same level and at least it was not a single.
