I'm not gonna go around and say specific artists, because most of the artists that are charging, like, 1,200 dollars a ticket — like in Las Vegas, if you wanna go and see the U2 show, I think it was 1,200 dollars per seat in the sphere. I've got no interest in paying 1,200 dollars to go and see U2 in the sphere — none. A hundred bucks, maybe.

A more general topic, but interesting that he used U2 as the example for his larger point.

In fact, the Sphere show seems like it’s being seen in a, uh, particular way by the masses.

He used U2 to make his point and was off in terms of how much the tickets were, but he is bringing up an important topic in music in terms of much tickets are now and how much the industry’s changed in terms of how artists get paid.

Bruce had never shied away from giving his opinion. He’s a no bullshit, down to earth type of guy. He basically told the RnR Hall of Fame to fuck off so it’s very unlikely they’ll ever get inducted, even though they’ve sold a lot of albums and fill arenas and stadiums around the world.

I thought that title read Bruce Springsteen was quoted for saying as much. Bit disappointed now, actually...  :-\

Sincerely, I wouldn't pay more than a hundred bucks on a U2 show either. And there's no way I'm traveling for it.

You say you’re in NYC now. Furthest you’d have to go is Giants Stadium.

Madison Square Garden is it then.

Ugh, bet that's a $500 ticket minimum.

I'd consider a stadium show for cheap. I wouldn't want my first and likely only U2 concert not to be in an arena, but ah well.

Angie Dickinson also will not part with $1200 for a U2 concert.
