Guys, it’s time to admit there was a major falling out. The back surgery thing is just an excuse. Larry isn’t doing jack shit for U2 that he doesn’t have to.

Larry is taking a timeout from U2 duties to concentrate on sorting out his physical health issues.  That's what we've been told and there's no evidence to suggest otherwise.  What's he missed out on, a banal retro album, which is largely acoustic guitar and piano anyway, and drumming in a retro show in Vega$ later this year?  Why would have want to talk about or promote them when he had little to no part in those projects?

Because it involves his band he is still apart of. Bono had said when he started doing interviews Larry was going to have back surgery so he hadn't had it.  It's not hard to pick up a phone.

This all feels like boiling the frog slowly. No matter what the band does or becomes which once would have been a violation of who they always promised to be, if they ease into it just slowly enough, that’s the new normal.

I thought the nadir was the nostalgia tour. But now it’s the half-assed “Cover ourself” album, a Vegas residency without one of the four of them, and even a documentary about one of their most important shows in which only 3 of them appear.

Then will come the tour with neither Adam nor Larry. Then Bono lip synching to old recordings.  Just wait.

It was my understanding that Larry needed the surgery if he were to continue to perform,  otherwise he would have to retire.  So if he is going forward with the surgery then it seems likely he intends to continue to be the drummer for U2.  I might be wrong of course.

Also, Larry wasn't featured in From the Sky Down. There are a couple audio clips, but no talking head video footage of him at all.
