How many U2 songs have you covered?
« on: October 16, 2017, 07:55:37 PM »
And which ones were they?

I've done Stay and Love Is Blindness in front of audiences, although I haven't done either in years. I've also worked out ASOH and Wild Horses,
but I've only ever done them at home.

Your turn.

I have never played in front of an audience. But I think I could do:
An Cath Dubh/Into The Heart,
Trip Through your Wires
One Tree Hill,
UTEOTW,
Acrobat,
LNOE,
Wake up Dead man,
Unkown Caller,
See through in the sunlight

Nice! Have tried Lemon, too. But can't figure how to set the delays. Did you Love Is Blindness like the studio or the live version?

With Lemon I just play it on the acoustic guitar ... I love the chord changes.

Love is Blindness is did more like The Edges version in From the Sky Down.

Not accomplished enough to play in front of live audience other than family/friends at home. However have several U2 songbooks (as well as other artists) for piano/guitar.  I primarily play piano/pump organ and my biggest beef with obtaining music is finding actual accompaniment arrangements thAt don't follow the vocal. I want actual accompaniment to song . Grrrrr....I've been playing long enough to tinker through and figure some out on my own, but not as much as I'd like.

Long story longer, I'm excited to be on this thread. Tinkering around with an old electric guitar as well as trombone/drums....will be nice to hear pointers from those of you (unlike myself) who actually know what they are doing!

I'm a singer/songwriter who performs solo, so my arrangement is based on the studio version.   :)

I sing and accompany myself on guitar, playing only chords while singing, and of course learning some of the riffs and intros I like, but it's rarely for anyone other than myself.

-RTSS
-Bad
-UTTEOTW
-The Fly
-Lemon
-Numb
-Staring at The Sun
-Gone
-Please
-WOWY
-WUDMan
-Miami (as a surf-punk song)
-All I Want, The First Time
-Mysterious Ways
-One
-Wild Horseys
-EBTTRT
-Zoo Station
-Angel of Harlem probably
-Still Haven't found
-In God's Country
-One Tree Hill
-Mothers probably too
-Stay
-The Wanderer
-Dirty Day
-The Sweetest Thing
-Summer Rain
-Stuck in a Moment way back when, have forgotten it since
-In a Little While
-Wild Honey
-Grace (played as the Motown classic it never was)
-Sometimes YCMake It
-Yahweh
-Love Is Blindness (or at least most of it one time)

Don't know, maybe some B-sides at some point, and some halfway expeditions, like Crazy Tonight. Can't remember.

I'd most likely not be able to play too many of these, but they are usually not too complicated, so I could figure them out in a few listens or by the end of the day... :-)
