Lights Of Home
« on: December 01, 2017, 03:51:50 PM »
A bit scary. A little thought. I don't remember what Bono told about it.

It's about death. His death. He is looking Death in his eyes, he sees heaven (maybe, he don't know: Do you know my name/or where I'm going). The 'you' in the lyrics could be Jesus.

The eyes could also be his mothers. 'It's something in your eyes' from Iris, since the lyrics are connected, it's possible. It sounds like he wants to be following his mother - I Will Follow.

What are your thoughts on these lyrics?

Yeah I’m pretty sure he’s asking Jesus “Do you know my name, or where I’m going?”

After death. I think so because he invokes his mother towards the end as though he’s ready to reunite with her. In her eyes he sees the lights of home, I’m pretty sure.

It's intense but very beautiful and hope-filled:  "I believe my best days are in front of me."

I checked it. It's "i believe my best days are ahead/I see the lights in front of me"

Sorry, I mis-translated it. I thought 'ahead' = 'I have had my best days already'

When he talked to Dutch DJ Ruud de Wild he said that in 2016 he had a personal wake up call. He said that he needed
to change some things. Intense lyrics, it's like something happened and hit him hard.
