I’ve tried to like The Smile, god knows I have, including this new song but I don’t. They just end up sounding like Radiohead without the interesting sonics.

It may take a few years still even from now - but they will. We are talking about a set of pure musicians here, who whilst their output as Radiohead has been less than prolific now for a while are still as individuals pretty prolific - They are IMO motivated and driven by producing art - That motivation and drive will meanthey'll come together again for sure.

Would not surprise me at all that when they do they release back to back records.

Rush were forced to split cos their drummer died. R.E.M just gave up for whatever reasons. Probably they fulfilled their contractual obligations with their record company.
