I watched Motherless Brooklyn tonight. had been hyped for this movie for quite some time, since reading about it being made, over a year ago. Well, underwhelmed is how i feel after watching it. Ed Norton was less than convincing in his role. It just seemed a badly made movie all round. It didnt make any impact on me. I had my suspicions that it was a weak movie, after the first 10 mins or so. 5/10

Wife and I watched the first 15 minutes of it and turned it off. Looks like we made the right call.

I think you deffo made the correct call. I too had the same doubts ealry on in the movie, except i stuck with it. Im not a film critic, but it didnt even look like a movie, the way it was shot. Very odd all round. I Doubt i will ever feel the need to see it again.

Last of the Mohicans

Aaaahhh... Miss Munro (sigh). I totally fell in love with Madeleine Stowe at this point. Great film. Cool score too.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

Last night, i re-watched Memento. The irony of a guy with a ropy memory, watching a movie about a guy with a ropy memory, wasnt lost on me. Thats the good thing about having a crap memory, when i watch movies over and over, or hear albums etc, much of the time, its like seeing the movies, or hearing the album, forthe first time. its always fresh and new.
Anyhoo, as for the movie. Its real good. 8.5/10

40 is no age.  Apparently his mother had died only nine days earlier.

Yeah, he was really super close to his Mum. He was also grieving following the loss of his mentor too. He hung himself on the eve of his mothers funeral. I especially liked Alexander McQueen, as he was really proud of his Scottish roots :)

I don't think he would have done himself in had his mother not died because he wouldn't have wanted to inflict that on her, but after she'd died there was nothing to stop him.

Agreed. He adored his mum
