New band, first album just out. I really like them. Songs are up in your face but I was surprised more than once by how they construct their songs. For example the opening track "for everything", guitars at the end change the whole mood of the song.

Apparently Flood produced them ?

Going to see them live in november.

A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

Always open to hearing new music - it is no wonder bands can't break through with so many people ignoring new bands.

One listen to this and i think i like it, firstly it is not too polished, and I like that....it is a bit derivative, but i think we are so far down the track now that it is hard not to be!

Get a bit of a Joy Division vibe from it.

There is enough there to make me seek out the album which I have just found - it is called "When I have fears"

It has received very good reviews so far:

Upon its release, When I Have Fears received acclaim from contemporary music critics. On review aggregator websites Metacritic and AnyDecentMusic?, When I Have Fears has an average weighted rating of 82 out of 100 based on eight critic reviews.[7][6] On review aggregate website Album of the Year, When I Have Fears has an average rating of 87 out of 100 based on 11 ratings.[5]

I have been aware of this band for a while now. I listen to a lot of new (non chart) music in the late evenings, on BBC6 music. Steve Lamacq plays a LOT of bands just like The Murder Capital

I'm listening to "alternative" playlists on iTunes.

You should see if you can listen into Steve Lamacq shows on BBC SOunds app. You might find, much like myself, you enjoy a lot of the music he plays.
