All the best Bullets
« on: March 22, 2019, 01:06:00 PM »
Bullet must be, hands down, their most versatile song. So many different takes, always fresh.

What are some of your favorite Bullets?

How much do you want for your soul? How much? What else? What else!!?

Can you see those fighter planes, when you're flying in private planes?

War! What is it good for?? Absolutely nothing.

ZooTV Bullet is my favorite by far. Especially Stockholm '92.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

For me it's R&H. Classic.

Stockholm, yes, Adam singing, yet another great Edge solo, feisty Bono.

That's it! This is MAYBE better than R&H, but it's close.

Just watched that again, and wow, that is a piece of art.

Obviously, the music is art. The Edge solo is one of his crowning career acheivements.

Stagecraft is great - the searching lights prowling around, red like a dark emergency.

Sound production during the part of the solo where Bono alternates the spotlight on Edge and the audience - you hear one chord pulled in tight, the next broad and expansive.

Cinematography is brilliant.

"Well, the God I believe in isn't short of cash, mister" - you tell 'em, Bono.

The very last note, Adam is so intense as he shuts down the song, all pissed off. They are all four "in concert" in that sense of the word, expressing a feeling and a value.

That Stockholm performance is intense.  Still love the R&H version though.

This Chicago version is pretty good too.  Hell, they're all good.

Yes! He sings the "Sky" background vocal several times on camera.

Probably ZOOTV.  I feel I missed out on the best versions as I've only seen I+E, Vertigo and TJT 2017 Tour BTBS.  After the Vertigo version, I wasn't all that surprised when they dropped it entirely for 360.  I found it underwhelming.  The studio version is definitely the best song on TJT for me and still a top song overall from their entire catalogue.  Have always been a big fan of the song.

This one belongs here.

Man that is freaky dark.  Dude looks and sounds like a monster from a childhood nightmare.  It still rocks, though.
