On Her Majesty's Secret Service by Ian Fleming
One of the better books in the series I've read so far.  Getting close to finishing the series now.

It's definitely one of the best in the series.  The last two, You Only Live Twice and The Man with the Golden Gun, aren't much good.  Sorry.

Yes, because the latter two are short stories.  At least with YOLT Fleming explores another country and culture as it's set in Japan, where as TMWTGG retreads old ground in Jamaica once again.  Whoever thought that a Caribbean Island could have been such a hotbed of espionage?

The Continual Condition by Charles Bukowski
A short poetry collection released posthumously by Bukowski.  Pretty good.

Red Lights by Georges Simenon
One of his Roman Durs books and set in the US about a husband and wife on an overnight driving trip which unravels as he starts to go on a bender and stops at roadside bars.  Decent.

Finished The Strangers in the House by Georges Simenon last week.  One of his roman durs (non Maigret) novels.  Probably my least favorite one that i've read so far.

Now i am halfway through Ian Flemings' You Only Live Twice.  Getting close to the end of the original series now.  So far so good, but not much action yet.

Just finished The Flash of Lighting Behind the Mountain a collection of posthumous poems by Bukowski.  Decent collection.  Some of the poems were written in his final days.

The Man from Archangel by Georges Simenon
Another good, easy read from Simenon.  A bunch of his books are being re-published in English by Penguin Boos so i ordered a few recently.

i didn't know some of those were banned.  trying to figure what's offensive about some of them.

I'd guess TKAM was banned because of the 'white saviour' angle.
