Vinyl reissues
« on: October 25, 2017, 07:21:48 AM »
Howdy all, nice new place you have here  :D.

I assume that the lack of any recent news following the recent vinyl reissue of HTDAAB means that the possible vinyl reissues of Zooropa and Pop (mentioned at U2songs.com http://www.u2songs.com/news/atomic_bomb_reissue_details) will not come to pass? It's a shame as I fancy a nice copy of each without paying hundreds for a vintage scratched Korean copy......

If anyone has any info, much appreciated.

U2 really are missing a trick by NOT re-issuing their "harder to get" vinyl. Its not like them to miss the chance to earn extra bucks! It seems odd if bomb was the only "harder to get" vinyl that gets the re-issued treatment.

Vinyl reissues a a huge market right now and I agree that the band is missing out by not tapping into this. I bought the Atomic Bomb reissue and would gladly shell out for the rest. I'm missing AB-ATYCLB.

Same, although I really want my AB copy to be an original and not a reissue. Still hope it happens, though, since I know a lot of fans who would gladly buy an AB reissue.

There was a period about 10 years ago where each year we could expect U2 to release something in the fall of every year- a DVD or deluxe edition album.  Would be cool if they got back into this routine and a new vinyl reissue a year would work for me.

I miss those days too. After the AB set they stopped this practice, even after making it seem like more remasters were coming.

No new ideas in the house and every book has been read.

I've found original copies of the older albums fairly cheap.  After Rattle and Hum it's rare to find them in my experiences anyway.

Yes, even on ebay the originals of the 90s albums are crowded out by the cheerfully coloured "unofficial" copies. I suppose one day there will be the inevitable U2 vinyl albums boxset, but that could be a long wait.

I bought Zooropa and AB knock-offs in Camden Market.  i was angry afterward.  I guess the sleeve is a way to tell.  Originals won't have basic white sleeves.  They still sounds great and look great if framed.

I donĀ“t care about vinyl reissues. I still hope for the Rattle and Hum, Zooropa, and Pop deluxe CD/DVD reissues.

I got original October, TUF, UABRS and R&H original vinyls.  Not in pristine shape.
