I've been trying to hold out on running this song's poll, but I just can't wait any longer!
For me, a very solid 10. BOOMCHA, forever, BOOMCHA !

Just wish the bottom end was heavier. Loved the video.
I saw Gloria live. Even if I never see the band live again, at least I saw Gloria live. :)

9/10

A brilliant commentary on commercialism and critique of the musical zeitgeist at the time. U2 does a great job at being self-depreciative and ironic (with Holy Joe being a prime example of this.

I'm not sure what keeps me from giving it a full 10/10. Discotheque is easily a top-15 U2 song, give or take.

8. Great riff and rhythm. I particularly like it live. Song doesn’t get enough credit.

For me one of u2's most sonically gripping and dynamic tracks - they have rarely sounded more urgent.

Good, but I can't listen to it without images of Village People dancing in my head.

But, isn't the vid so hysterically good? I mean, Edge in leather and chains? Does life get any better than that?  ;D

I haaaaaaate the video.  It's so cringey.  They look old, Edge's head is clearly visible.  It's so embarrassing.  If they hadn't made this video and then been given the public evisceration they so richly deserved for it, maybe they wouldn't have done a total 180 with the next 20 years of their career.
