I've been on a big NLOTH kick lately. It's not as great as it should have been, but when it's good it's GREAT. It manages to invoke a particular atmosphere and really takes me somewhere else, which the best U2 albums often do.

I'd say it's their best this century and probably the last experimental work we'll ever get from them.
Well… the latest SBS version was some kind of experiment

Did your initial enthusiasm carry over to the 360 Tour? For me, there was such a disconnect between the feel of the album (North Africa, Paris) and the tour (space for some reason). I remember listening to NLOTH for those first few months and thinking it had a real '90s vibe to it. Then they opened their tour in Barcelona and played only two songs from that entire decade.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

I saw them twice at the beginning of the tour and twice near the end. They were great shows and I thought the new material carried over well. It's a shame they dropped much of it by the end but I'm glad I got to hear songs like UC, Breathe, and NLOTH. I'll admit that the concept didn't match the album, but for what's it worth I had a great time at those shows. Maybe I'm just easy to please when it comes to things like that.

Thinking of putting ATYCLB at number 3 in place of NLOTH.

ATYCLB does have 7 songs I like. Including 'The ground beneath her feet' which was on my album. The rest is filler but nothing as bad as Boots. It was also a 3 year wait, rather than 5.

Same problem as Pop and PopMart…

They had a tour in mind and we’re committed to it before they knew what the album would be. And the 2 didn’t match.

The difference being… 360 was a commercial success, if not an artistic one.

For love or money…
