This is bollocks too....

A team gets a minimum of 19 home games a season. So the fuckers allow removing one of those games to be played in the yooessay for example. What about the nearby bars, food joints, shops, offies, merch stands etc etc who are going to effectively deprived of 5% of their annual income? It's fucking disgusting. All so uefa et al and greedy owners can wring some more money out of the game.
NFL played it's first game at Croke Park and it looked absolutely ridiculous. Apart from the dubious claims of a mugging, the difference in size between a GAA field and an NFL field is so huge that the stadium dwarfed the playing field. A GAA field has a playing area of 12,750 Square Metres. That's more than DOUBLE the playing area of an NFL field, even including the end zones.
So they spent a week trying to make it look like a fit, and it looked, IMO, ridiculous. Did it raise NFL viewership in Ireland? Remember that Ireland, like England, is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Time, and 8 hours from West Coast time. So games are on Sunday nights from 6PM - 4AM. The Superbowl starts at 11:18 PM on a Sunday and doesn't end until 3-4AM Monday morning.
So, no, you're not going to get a large-scale audience in Ireland. Last year, only 118k people watched at least one NFL game in the entire season. Not to mention, the Superbowl is only available on Cable over there, so ........
In England, it's a little different. First, the Superbowl is free-to-air on ITV. Second, there are large-scale soccer stadiums (like Tottenham Stadium and Wembley) where the NFL field doesn't look like leprechaun in a giant's land, and third, there are twenty times more Americans living in the UK than in Ireland, so there's something of a domestic audience.
