What do you love about Fire ?

First I love the fact that it was teased on Boy as a hidden track.

There’s some great guitar work, there. And of course Steve Lillywhite took advantage of the harmonics to build a wall of sound for Edge.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

It's probably my least-favorite track on October, yet I still like it. The guitar work is nice and it's got a solid groove that really sticks out.

Nothing. It’s by far the worst song on October.

Then you should refrain to post when the question asked is « what do you love…? »

But you knew that already.

We are invited to reveal what we love about fire. I said nothing. Seems like a perfectly reasonable response.

At the end of the LP, there was a 35 seconds snippet of Fire (the guitar solo).

The hidden track disappeared for the CD version of the album. It was put back for the remastered edition. If you listen to the last 35 seconds of Shadows and Tall Trees you’ll hear it.

At the time of the Boy recording it was called Saturday Night. The demo is also on the remastered edition of Boy.

I agree. There's a little reggae vibe in there which is interesting because IIRC it was recorded in the Bahamas.

I will say that I think Saturday Night is better than Fire though.

There are a handfull of u2 songs, across the decades, that i am not hugely keen on. Fire is one of those
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world
