I wish to register my strong objections to the so-called rap band "Kneecap"

Purely on grounds of musical taste. They're, not to put too fine a point on it, s.hit.

Kneecap, being s.hit:


The likes of Sinead O'Connor with the Chieftains did this particular kind of stuff - i.e, musical expressions of Irish resistance against British imperialism - way better 30 years ago, with some actual musicianship.


I'm not expressing a view on the politics. I'm an entirely apolitical animal.

Do you think Kneecap should be prosecuted? I do. Not on political grounds, but for crimes against music.

I tried to listen to them earlier today. I don’t give a shit about their ‘politics’ I just don’t don’t find their music very interesting

Gotta be honest, if that track minus the vocals came on after midnight in any local goth club, it would get me on the dancefloor instantly, assuming I wasn't out there already. Sounds like the soundtrack to a scene from some lost C-movie Terminator ripoff.

I think the politics is probably for attention.

Their music sucks. There's lots of great new Irish acts out there, kneecap isn't one of them. Cardinals, Cliffords and NewDad for example.
