Kite is a great anthemic song. It has none of the pompous bluster of, for example, pride. The bit at the end lets it down about ‘new media’, ‘rock stars’ ‘hip hop’ and ‘big cars’ but apart from the it’s great

I love Pride, so clearly I don't have a problem with 'pompous bluster' as long it still sounds good. But acting like Kite isn't also pompous bluster is silly. Heartland is an absolutely beautiful track, pompous or not. Kite on the other hand is extremely bland to my ears.
