Bon Jovi is a band aimed squarely at 11 year old boys and/or adults who just don't like music, or whose musical tastes have for some reason become permanently retarded at 11. I can’t stand Metallica, either. I was just using them as an example of a band who truly put on a 360 show, unlike U2 who put on a 270 or less show (AKA 360).

True story.

Last September I’m in Nashville for a work conference. One night I’m walking down Broadway (the Main Street of bars) and I walk by a bar owned by Bon Jovi. This lady who works there tells me to come in, Bon Jovi will actually be there and playing shortly. I gave it about 2 seconds thought and told her I’m good, and kept on walking. He has a few decent songs, but I could have seen him play a bar for free and I didn’t give a shit. Maybe if they were offering free Heineken I would have stopped.

So Cruel for the win.

Van heYlen did attract the females, but early VH was a lot more rock n roll then Bon Jovi and VH were the biggest band in North America in the early 80’s for high school boys.
