I Will Follow. A decent song but way overplayed live compared to other superior Boy tracks.

SATT.

Never got into it. I don’t hate it, but to me they had a bunch of demos that had more potential, starting with this one :

I don’t understand how it didn’t make it on the reissue as well.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

The live version redeems it for me.

Haha you said it before I could. It's wack on the album but live (especially at Red Rocks) it is fire.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

If you can catch the Glasgow 1983 version you'll thank me later  ;)

The whole show is amazing but this tune... you can sense the crowd going berserk.

Interesting that a lot of people going for I Will Follow and it's almost the only one from that era they insisted on regularly playing live even decades later.
"There's nothing wrong with U2. As far as I'm concerned, I've stolen from Larry Mullen's career for years. Without Larry, I wouldn't be able to stomp and sing, it'd be difficult. I mean I owe debts to the Bhundu Boys, Larry Mullen, Stewart Copeland. They're good players, and they're great songwriters" - Gary "Reni" Wren, drummer, The Stone Roses reunion press conference, 18/10/2011

"I'd just like to put on record that that's bobbins" - Ian Brown, singer, ditto

I don't mind Shadows and Tall Trees, it's alright. It's their most suburban song, as it were.

The latter is a reason for the former - for me, at least.

I don’t hate IWF, it just doesn’t seem like a standout track to me, yet it’s treated that way.
