What?s really special with Patrick Watson is that while being anglophone and recording almost exclusively in English, his billionaire song is one of his very few songs recorded in French.

I don’t rate this at all.

Music as background noise is normalized now. Spotify or YouTube can easily get a song to a billion streams but people still know heroes by Bowie and will remember it in 50 more years whereas the latest pop song with a cartoon gorilla by Coldplay will be forgotten and you’ll tell people “but it had a billion views” and it’ll be like telling people that shakin stevens had more top UK chart hit singles than the Beatles.
