They'll make a fortune, a bomb load of fat old men wearing shit bucket hats will pay ridiculous amounts of money to stand and bellow Don't Look Back in Anger etc tunelessly as they watch some old men who are mere dots on a stage half a mile away phone it in, and the media will wet their collective pants about it all.

I'm all for people going out to enjoy themselves and people will, but fuck me Oasis is not for me. Bands generally have a sell by date and even most Oasis fans would likely agree theirs was about 28 years ago...It is IMO a bit sad that bands do this nostalgia stuff - but money talks, always has, always will and these doing this was always inevitable - totally inevitable.

But hey to each his own and all that - pretty harmless stuff really.
28 years ago cuts out over half their albums.  Know nothing will change your tune but i still say both brothers are releasing great music.

Oasis never released great music as far as i am concerned - so i'd be beyond stunned if either of the brothers grim have.

But as the old saying goes - to each his own. One man's feast etc.....We could go round in circles all day and we won't agree - that is the subjectivity of art.

Careful, newbie....There was a feller called Larry on here before - absolutely full of negativity about just about everything except the stuff he liked....

He eventually flounced like a stroppy princess....

Sounds like a typical Lana Del Rey fan.

On reflection you may be right.

Anyway - don't worry about him, he is old news - took his ball and gone home.

Welcome to the forum - you'll find most people here are decent and friendly. We have the odd sensitive soul - sort of person who puts people on an ignore list, because they can't cope with divergent views or banter - but aside from that sort of weirdo, it is a decent old place with decent people.

If that other Larry ever returns just watch out for him - he might not like you using such a similar name.

I'm more than stoked by the news but it will be unlikely that i'll get to see them if they're only playing to locations.  What i'm reading is that it will only be Liam and Noel from the band and the High Flying Birds will be performing.  I'd love to see the original band back to together (although never would expect to original drummer to be involved).  Bonehead is already playing with Liam at his shows so i'm surprised if he's not involved.  The brothers always said he was the heart and soul of Oasis.
I actually care more about getting a new album than i do a few shows.  There will obviously be a live album they release of them, but i just want new music.

Thought the other 3 would be up for it. Money talks.

The same 5 members were together from before & then for the first 3 albums.

Most of the reunion concert will be music from these 3 albums.

For me it is a Liam and Noel reunion. Rather than Oasis.

Oasis is Noel and Liam as far as most people are concerned and they're only going to want to pay modest salaries to the other musicians.

It'll be interesting to see if they play WTSMG in its entirety.

Usually if you put session musicians in the place of a drummer, a bass player and a rhythm guitarist of a band you whilst getting perfectly acceptable technical efficiency would usually lose the colour, the light and shade and the unique stuff that makes a band.

But given this is Oasis, a band without any real colour, light, shade and anything unique about them - it will make no difference at all as the drummer, bass player and rhythm guitarist just grind away personalityless playing the rudimentary shite the original members played.

I might be wrong but for their last few records they didn't even have a full time drummer - they used Ringo Starr's lad - who was a touring member....

The thing about oasis is the rest of the world really don’t care much for them. They seem to appeal mainly to Sun readers and drunk people down the pub in the UK. Hence their ‘tour’ isn’t even visiting Europe, let alone America or North Korea.

More world tour dates to be announced

Though only UK and Ireland tour dates have so far been announced, there are plans are under way for Oasis to tour other continents outside of Europe later next year.

In a statement released moments ago, the English band confirms that they will be touring throughout Ireland and the UK starting in July next year.

The other world shows, it adds, have yet to be announced.
