Was anyone excited about SOS?

Must admit I was after the promos.

I loved Pride.

One was different but I liked it.

WOWY was fine.

Only BD I didn't much care for.

A 75% success rate replicated on 40 songs would have given me 30 songs.

Was being optimistic. But it had it's moments.

I wasnt particuarly. For manys a long year, i had been on record as not being a fan of u2 music striped back. I will admit Most of SOS has since grown on me, but a real bugbear for me is that bono sings many of the songs in a low register. That detracts from the enjoyment of listening, for me

No. I failed to see the point of it.
It was "fine" as a Covid-project but of course they had to give it the full promotion and album treatment that it just could not live up to. I listened to it on my walks for a couple of months but havent listened to it since.

Pride and Two Hearts were excellent standouts

I expected nothing less than what we were given. A bunch of average at best versions of a bunch of (mostly) great songs. So I was not excited, no. Although I wasn’t disappointed, either.

i only saw it as a cash grab tie-in promotion for Bono's book.  It was a nice bonus from the band, but i don't consider it to be a new album really.  the 40 tracks seems to overdo it a bit, although i get that its for the 40 chapters of the book.
I listened to it for a few weeks and haven't touched it since.

I was initially interested in the idea of them reworking/re-recording songs. Getting 40 dull, acoustic numbers wasn't what I hoped for and I've hardly gone back to it since.
