Largest crowd in a US concert

From consequence :

Country music icon George Strait set a new record for the largest single ticketed concert in US history with his show at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas on Saturday night.

A crowd of 110,905 fans turned out to attend Strait's concert, breaking a record previously held by Grateful Dead, who had 107,019 Deadheads in attendance for their 1977 show at Raceway Park in New Jersey.

Bono : hold my beer.

Can’t post pics but I can hardly imagine something more dull than seating in a stadium watching 1 cowboy with a guitar (who’s clearly reading his lyrics).
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

Macca had 200,000 people in Quebec City in 2008. My wife and my kids were there and it was a nightmare getting out of the place afterwards. It was a memorable concert for them, though. Missed it due to my work obligations at the time. I somehow regret not attending…

Simon and Garfunkel played to half a million people in Central Park in 1981.

But free concerts don't count.

Well, there was a tribe of tens of thousands of Deadheads that followed them everywhere they went, plus that particular show was in the New York City area. Then of course there are people there hoping to get free drugs. Its more than just the live show, it was a trip to the 60s hippie past.
