I was sleeping in the parking lot
of a church in the village
Where the people seek redemption
from a life of suffer and pillage
The shark is all smiles
with his mouthful of teeth
And the skies are mellow gold
crushed in defeat
I was drinking something exotic
in the shade of the trees
As the cicada's lazy existence plays
for the honey chasing the bees
I can barely see the tiger
through the leaves and the bamboo
But the tiger she can see me
now what am i to do
The clouds offer slight reprieve
from the blazing hot sun
As we cry out to the divine
but the faucet is clearly done
Oh please father wont you save us
they cried with tears of blood
We don't claim the rainbows
if you hadn't provided the flood
And i walk through the streets
of this murderous land
A heart full of mercy
and a gun in my hand
If you wont take me now
who will, and when
The prophets carry their cannons
into the lions den
Every road is dusty
Every day is shit
Every soul is broken
lacking resolve and grit
