I usually have a few contenders. But here there is only one song I’d ever consider. SYCMIOYO.

A Man and A Woman

I feel it’s the only track that they didn’t screw up by overtinkering and subsequently dumbing it down.

It’s not in the pantheon of great U2 songs.  However, it’s the loosest untarnished song on the album. B

AMAAW is a different kind of song.  It could well be a strong contender for underrated song.

Crumbs From Your Table was probably the first U2 deep track that I really loved as a little kid, so it's always held a special place in both my heart and in my rankings of songs on HTDAAB.

Were I not blinded by sentimentality I might have chosen One Step Closer or Miracle Drug. Or I might have still chosen CFYT because I think it still holds up as a great track.

I went with crumbs too.

It’s very good songwriting & production, a really good song. The only problem I have with it and most of this album is that it’s very generic and lacks the U2 DNA (4 guys in a room).

To me it’s in line with Gone. Good hook, strong melody, nice bridge. It clicks.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

Here’s my take:

Sometimes
AMAAW
Yahweh
Vertigo

All have at least something, although sometimes only really hits the spot.

Everything else is so average it’s impossible to rank in order until

ABOY

Which is truly shit. In the top 10 worst songs they’ve recorded

COBL for me. The Bomb album, when i saw it listed there....it struck me how nearly all the songs, are much of a muchness, when it comes to likeability. They are all pretty average, for u2 songs

Same. That Killahurtz mix (or whatever the fuck) isn't half bad.
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.
