I voted for Ahimsa, on account of it being the funniest

The soccer song doesn't even really count right? It was Garrix featuring Bono and The Edge.

Also, Ahimsa. A crap song with a nice-sounding chorus.

Yep. Straight collab.

Not U2.

Not that anyone was voting for it anyway.

So the sphere concerts were a ‘straight collab’?

Confusing, isn’t it?

You’re not arguing in good faith here.

Sphere is a live show, not a record. Apples and oranges.

We are the People is a Martin Garrix song, featuring B and E.

You won’t find it anywhere listed as U2.

I disagree.

U2 are pretty much a bono and edge show anyway now albeit one surrounded by a cast of thousands of engineers and producers.

The football song is just another example.

Indeed, the edge is credited as composing the song and bono is credited with vocals and lyrics. Garrix is just one of 7 other people who were involved. No different from U2’s OS1 or TJT featuring eno, then.

Unlike OS1, WATP is a single standalone song released with no input or involvement from Adam or Larry at any point. Unlike with Brian Eno, members of U2 have at no other time worked with Garrix.

Passengers = U2. “Martin Garrix feat. Bono and The Edge” ≠ U2.

How do you know that, though? Brand U2 is a carefully managed illusion leveraged to make as much money as possible. It wasn’t always that way, but no one could reasonably argue U2 is, these days, just 4 guys - from the north side of Dublin which is bullshit - in a room making punk music from Venus - which is also bullshit. Larry is a standup guy; I can’t imagine him, for one moment, thinking Ahimsa or YSSML, for example, are anything other than terrible.

Atomic City is a fine song. Not amazing but ok by post-2000 U2 standards. I like the breakdown section of the song with Adam's bass riff and it has some clever lyrics.

For what it's worth I dont think YSSML is horrible as most here seems to think. Its also fine for what it is - a song made for the soundtrack to a childrens movie.

The other two I really dont care for.
