I’m choosing to ignore covers and live tracks (I’d pick Watchtower if I considered covers, and probably Pride out of the live U2 tracks).
And you know what? I’ll go against the grain here and say I really like the album tracks. None stand out as poor to me. No, they aren’t all 10/10 but they all capture something that I’m happy to have been captured on the album.
I totally get the low regard for LRM, it’s long and repetitive and doesn’t really go anywhere, but it’s got a comfortable vibe.
I really like VDL and it would be on my playlist if I didn’t have to listen to the bullshit stuck to the end (and preferably not the crowd noise at the beginning).
WLCTT is a stomper, and I know all the complaints but I honestly love this duet.
Angel is just great, maybe a contender for Underrated. A crowd pleaser you never hear about.
God Part II, Desire, both solid tracks. Haakmoon is a wow even if I’d trim the end. Heartland and AIWIY are Holy Shit level.
So I guess I’m just going to vote for the one I have the least wish to hear again, though I think it’s objectively a better song than a few of the others.
