There’s no perfect song. Except Bullet the Blue Sky.

Kidding aside, it’s my favorite song from my favorite album. Probably the most important song in my life, growing up especially.

Pretty much a no brainer for me.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

If i was voting for Live versions, it would be Exit. But since it is on the Album versions, we are voting, im going for RHMT

I would have voted for RHMT but WoWY is just WoWY - the ultimate U2 song - so I went with that.

One of those rare occasions where TD and I agree 100%

A unique song.

Tough decision and probably 4 songs could be "Best"

So will go with this..

Sometime around the late spring of 1994,  probably around Memorial Day,  i was stationed at an Army base in Virginia and there was some type of event going on in a park setting.  A beautiful green field with large pine trees towering into the skies except for the very middle where it was open and the partly cloudy skies gave way to brilliant blue and a searing sun.  It was quite warm and humid on that particular day, and i was probably on beer number two and felt nice after the beers and the prepared BBQ they had provide for us.

There were many of us there in attendance,  thousands perhaps.  And after the Commanding General spoke to us for the occasion,  he encouraged us to watch the skies.  For a few moments there was nothing,  and then out of nowhere appeared what some would have described as a UFO,  but we knew it as the F117 Stealth Fighter.  It shot out above the treetops and did a quick flyover and turned abruptly to give us a long look at it before it disappeared.  And then it came back one more time at a quite rapid speed and roared overhead and then straight up into oblivion,  disappearing in the clouds.

We all stared off into the clouds,  trying to see if we could see it again,  meanwhile someone at the podium had turned the music back on the PA system.  I remember staring up into the layered clouds between the blue skies and the intense sun, trying to get another glimpse of this now departed triangular shaped stealth fighter while the opening strains of song teased my ears,  that building momentum coming into full focus - Where the Streets have no name

In God’s Country. I love Edge’s sound in this one, and the music is almost a continuation of the atmosphere from TUF songs like Wire or ISS, but sounding more upbeat.

It’s inconceivable to me streets gets so much love. After the intro it falls flat on its face

Well I would guess that if Streets just existed as a track alongside a bunch of other tracks in a compilation, and if it had never been played live, no one would really rate it.

But in the world we actually live in where we can't divorce a track like Streets from its place in the larger U2 story, I understand the enthusiasm even if I don't necessarily share it.

Probably not as much as BD, or Vertigo, but Streets is almost part of the public domain now. It’s widely known by the masses. As Exile says, you can’t divorce from that.
