Oh good lord, this was a tough one.

ASOH - I cannot stress how freekin amazing this version is. The whole EP is magical but this one edges it. It reminds me of the fly on elevation and how that superb melody shines through when stripped back. I was hoping for more of the same on the surrender LP. Sadly, however, that was, for the most part, shit.

Predictable but had to vote for Bad.

ASOH is incredible but not a career defining song as the live version of Bad is.
In fact, I discovered the live version of Bad maybe 2 years before I got to discover the LP version and it almost sounded like a different song.
Love both anyway.

Also… I don’t think any other band can tackle this song. Quintessential U2.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

I disagree.

I guarantee a distinguished artist could do a better version of bad than u2 did on their dismal ‘songs of surrender’ effort.

I just listened to Bad again on SOS. Bono sounds as bored as edge does. God knows what Adam and Larry were up to. What a wasted opportunity to reimagine a truly great song  :'(

What is the story with 'Three Rises' & 'Love comes Tumbling'?

Were they recorded during TJT sessions & would have been on a double?

At least 6 months work needed to release a top double. Then they would have missed out on the summer stadiums.

Yes, they are from the TUF sessions.

They’re on the Deluxe reissue as well.
