Psychologists insist that these kinds of lists tell us more about the inner state of those who make them than about the actual topic. Anyway, here's my list of great U2 "love songs":

Lucifer's Hands
The Fool
Drowning Man
Corpse (These Chains are Way Too Long)
Exit
Gone
Alex Descends into Hell
Numb
Bad
So Cruel
Wave of Sorrow
I'm Not Your Baby
Love is Blindness
Red Flag Day
Daddy's Gonna Pay for Your Crashed Car
The Troubles

Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

U2 don't do love songs.  That could be a major reason why they have so many fans.

Take my hand
You know I'll be there
If you can
I'll cross the sky for your love
And I understand
These winds and tides
This change of times
Won't drag you away
Hold on, and hold on tightly
Hold on, and don't let go of my love

So this is supposed to be songs for/about Ali.

One, EBW, and LIBTAIIW aren’t for/about her.

Not that I really give a shit, or that I would ever intentionally listen to this band anymore... at least not at the present moment... but... it really cannot be disputed that AIWIY is the quintessential, definitive U2 love song.  Is this even debatable?

You say you'll give me
A highway with no one on it
Treasure just to look upon it
All the riches in the night

You say you'll give me
Eyes in a moon of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
A harbor in the tempest

But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you
First Chair. Last Call.

Luminous Times (Hold on to Love)
The Troubles

The Sweetest Thing

Hey....i admit it....im not good at figuring out the intention behind many of u2's tunes. But Stateless, to my ear, musically speaking, is a very seductive tune. A real fave of mine
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

Honestly thought you were joking with the first one but no, there is a U2 song called Lucifer's Hands, apparently (I haven't being paying much attention to their output of the last decade)
"There's nothing wrong with U2. As far as I'm concerned, I've stolen from Larry Mullen's career for years. Without Larry, I wouldn't be able to stomp and sing, it'd be difficult. I mean I owe debts to the Bhundu Boys, Larry Mullen, Stewart Copeland. They're good players, and they're great songwriters" - Gary "Reni" Wren, drummer, The Stone Roses reunion press conference, 18/10/2011

"I'd just like to put on record that that's bobbins" - Ian Brown, singer, ditto
