Easy vote for me, Fire is the slam dunk worst on the album.

We agree once again, but it wasn't as easy of a choice for me. I actually do enjoy Fire, along with every song on October. But something had to be worst.

Saturday Night is the better version anyway.

I Fall Down. I never understood the disdain for Fire.  :-\
Listen as Hope and Peace try to rhyme,
Listen over marching bands playing out their time.

But, if pushed, I’d say ITA is the ‘weakest’ song on the album

I have now voted. However, I hate to be pedantic, but I really must address the wording of the OP’s question.

By using the term, ‘worst’, it implies there is a song on October which is poor. It also implies there is a continuum from ‘least worst’ to ‘worst’.

None of these options represent my true feelings, which are that October is a work of great beauty, from top to bottom.

Nothing I really dislike on this album. I voted « Is That All » because it sounds sketchy to my ears, that’s all.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

It is Fire for me. I just dont enjoy the tune as all the others on the album. That simple
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
You
You were acting like it was the end of the world

I don’t think Fire aged too well, but there was a short period of time during my teens when I was obsessed with the song. It has to do with the production. I love the production on this. Typically something no one other than U2 + Lillywhite could have done successfully.

I also like the fact that there was this secret snippet at the end of the Boy LP (when the song was still called Saturday Night). It gives the song an extra edge (no pun intended).
