GA v 302
« on: February 10, 2024, 03:47:29 AM »
Hi all - I’ve got tickets for 302 (pretty much on the side) for next Thursday. It looks like GA tickets are dropping a day or 2 before the gigs.

Would you recommend sticking with 302 or getting GA?

Thank you.

From what i understand you get a better view of what the Sphere is all about from upper seats,  of course with GA you are closer to the band.  Obviously its your call.

I have seen the band a dozen times and personally would probably go with 302 in this particular instance.

I thoroughly enjoyed being in second row GA.  For one, you get to be very close to the band of course.  I also think it may actually be a better Sphere experience, though I have not seen it from a seat.

You don't get a full view of the screen, but the screen fully envelops your view.  You don't see the edges of it or the arena seats, just the band, the stage, and an enormous changing background with no edges.  The effect is pretty magical.

You do have to tilt your head way back to see stuff like the ceiling effect during the Fly.  If you look closely, you can notice that the area directly behind the band is a a tiny bit pixelated.  It doesn't look bad, it's not something you would ever notice unless you were looking for it, but if that may bother you that's something to note.  The only other negative I can think of is that the Even Better Than the Real Thing visuals are extremely disorienting if you're looking at the band from GA during the song.  If you look up at the screen, it's fine, but you basically have to avoid looking at the stage for that to avoid being sick.

I hope you have a great time! Quick question about the floor if you can answer. My wife and I are seeing the show next Sunday and we have GA floor. Do you have any advice about where to stand or how early to arrive? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

At 8am the day of the show, they give out numbered wristbands.  You can then leave and come back around 5pm, and your spot will be saved.  I got there at 6am and was 56th in line and 1 row from the rail near the middle.

Who is they?  Venue officials or self-appointed line Nazis?

Both.  The self-appointed line Nazis write a number on your hand and take your name in a notebook when you get there, then the venue officials move the line from outside the gate to the door at 8.  The officials then give you a numbered wristband and let you leave.

Basically the same shit that has been going on for years.  I am glad to be at a point where GA isn't a priority - it was fun and great and nice being close up to the band and even interacting with them.  But its also nice not to have to waste time lining up that could be otherwise spent sleeping in,  getting drunk,  laid,  etc.

yup.  one of the best things about I+E Tour IMO was the ability to move around with so much space, there were no line Nazis to speak of (I was GA at LA Forum).

I have zero tolerance to even consider standing in line for any act, never mind dealing with the demented & entitled U2 fanatics who think the band are gods.

Exactly.  We did GA at Tulsa for e&i and did not line up until probably 630 or so.  We had a great spot on the floor with easy access to the exits for restroom and beer,  also was close enough to the stage to be hit by bottled water thrown by Bono.   8)

Thanks everyone for the advice. After talking with my wife we’ve decided to take a gamble and not use the wristband process in order to have a less stressful day/see the city (first trip to Vegas). Maybe not being at the stage will allow for a good view of both band and sphere. Thanks again- appreciated.
