Bono introduced SBS as if the whole stadium already knew & loved it.

He could be right as U2 flags were being waved & fans jumping up & down.

His passion is infectious as he tells the audience to 'welcome the Edge' & 'you know the words'.

The audience have a little sing along after Bono has shown a camera man how to do his job.

People have barely recovered before Bono is making another speech prior to Bad.

Half way through he spots a U2 fan. Security are not doing enough & he jumps down. Having a triple whammy of embracing 3 women.

It's then time for a singalong with the fans & a montage.

In all the excitement Pride couldn't be sung.

There's actually an interview about this. Her name was Kal Khalique and she wasn't a U2 fan. She was there to see Wham, but her sister wanted to see U2. When bono hit the stage, the crowd surged and she was feeling suffocated. "The crowd surged, and I was suffocating then I saw Bono." She told The Sun (scum) years later.

Incidentally, she went on to have a pretty impressive career, currently at KPMG.

Watched Live Aid with my sister & Dad.

The intial excitement had died down as it had been going for 5 hours.

However SBS really woke us up. It was enough to keep us interested during the lenghty Bad. Although none of us had a clue who they were.

My dad saying half way through Bad ' Is he going to get someone out of the audience'.

My sister replying 'That is the sort of thing they would do for publicity'.

Neither were in America either.

Frankie & Tears for Fears didn't play Live Aid. Frankie turned it down, T4F were touring and donated some of there proceeds.

Just read this -

Wham were scheduled to play at Live Aid after Elton John, however the 'Tiny Dancer' singer's set ran over its allotted time, which left no time for Wham to perform. However, Elton John invited George Michael on stage to join him in singing the lead vocal on his track 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me'.

--------

I bet George didn't like that.

Read that Bono spotted a U2 fan in the audience.

Perfectly plausible. There were enough of them there.

Whether that was the woman who managed to get over the barriers to dance with him is another matter.

He did embrace two other women on stage. Don't know there story.
