I hear 2/3 of the chorus for Blondie’s « Call me » in there, but it ain’t bad.

Really like Edge’s solo.

Does it answer all the craziness surrounding Larry lately ?

Well....the song to me, sounds like left over segments from the last couple of albums. Certainly no new ground is being broken with this toon. Hard to get excited. But as i said elsewhere, it is certainly better than ahisma and your song saved my life
But hasnt left me excited about what might come next

Agreed. Nothing ground breaking but it sounds half decent, nothing like the train wrecks we got previously.

Larry cuts the nonsense Instantly.

So I’ll be the first to eat some humble pie regarding Larry then. It certainly looks like he’s still involved in u2 and hasn’t left.

Regarding the song, part of the chorus does sound like ‘call me’ from blondie, but the rest of the song obviously doesn’t. Some nice guitar in there and I’ll wait to hear a better quality version to assess it properly. Sounds decent though.

It's shite that is.  I imagine the folks who said the Stones new song is pretty good will think the new U2 song is pretty good too.

(But as they say in Trainspotting, deep down we know it's really just shite.)

I did not, lollipop.

However, I did hope for a decent rocker. This is boring and utterly predictable. The opposite, in fact, of the creative spirit they channelled for AB and Zooropa.

I’ll check out the studio version, as this live recording is pretty ropey, but I’m not holding out much hope.

Even so, I am encouraged to see Larry back in the fold.

This is exactly what I expected just as the Stones' new single, Angry, is exactly what I expected from them.

And you don't need to hear the studio version to get the gist of the song from this performance.

Even so, I am encouraged to see Larry back in the fold.

By this point does it really matter from a creative point of view?  But yeah I am glad to see Larry is still fit enough to play drums.

Not terrible.  But forgettable.
