On the saturday night....my anxiety got the better of me....so me and one of my mates headed for a seat in the old "Jungle" at Celtic Park.
The sunday, i coped much better and managed to get a place right at the front, in the pen. Plenty of space to move around in there.
As far as my history with u2 and anxiety goes...well, i recall standing in the que to see the Edinburgh Popmart show. I was in quite a state (highly excited and hyperventilating).
I gave myself a telling off.....i convinced myself that u2 were just people, like me and they were not Gods. Since then, i have been much calmer at u2 gigs.
Sadly tho, my last trip to see them, to London, in 2017, i was meant to go to 2 Joshua Tree 30 gigs. I made it to half a gig. My Anxiety was off the scale that weekend. But there were other factors at play. This tiny town boy, from the Highlands of Scotland, flew to london by himself and dealt with getting around, by myself.
And probably, the BIGGEST factor, that made me struggle so much, was it was ROASTY TOASTY in London that weekend. I struggled to sleep and cope with the heat. Turns out, some londoners told me they struggled with the heat that weekend too. So all in all, it was a lot to tackle for this individual, who struggles to cope a lot of the time
