Hi everyone! I'm Otto, 26 years old from Finland and here's how I encountered U2!
Couple of years ago, when I studied to be a practical nurse, I wasn't feeling that well. I was a trainee in a place, that honestly sucked. So one day I started browsing music and saw The Joshua Tree. I had heard about U2 and didn't really have an opinion about them. I pressed play and the intro of Where The Streets Have No Name started. When Edge's signature guitar sound came, I got goosebumps all over me. I started crying almost immediately. I cried all of the 50 minutes, that Joshua Tree lasts. I thought the music was soul crushing and uplifting. I listened the Joshua Tree every day, especially when I went to work. From there, I started to expand my U2 album catalog. Then came Achtung Baby, then The Unforgettable Fire...
Now, U2 is one of my top bands of all time. I simply think they are great, when it comes to songwriting and Bono is a talented singer, with lots of expression and emotion. I can't get enough of their music ❤️
