You’d think the geniuses who run this stuff could avoid these kinds of mistakes. The ‘overhang’ means people daft enough to pay hundreds of dollars to watch gentleman nearing the octogenarian phase of their lives playing a record they recorded decades ago, will not be able to see most of the screen:

Nothing new here. For the i & e show my buddies and I were in a box in the end zone for a direct view of the stage. My buddies company had the box but tickets were full price. A few songs in and the stupid screen drops and for the majority of the show we can’t see the stage and we can’t see what’s on the screens. Worst U2 show I’ve seen and criminal that they didn’t heavily discount all the tickets in the end zone sections.

Excerpt the sphere is meant to be an ‘immersive’ ‘experience’ for everyone. If I was spending hundreds of dollars on a ticket I’d expect to be able to see the technology I’d spent hundreds of dollars paying for.

Ya, kinda like when we paid full price for i & E and weren’t able to see the band or the screen. They never mentioned the view would be 100% blocked for the majority of the show.

I've heard of people being handed better seats when they complained once at the venue. Worth a try next time.
A dangerous idea that almost makes sense...

You were at the bar for the remainder of the gig? Very sensible, I’d say.

There was a bar outside our box, so we spent some time there. Some of U2s sound guys were in the box next to us so we talked to them a bit. They weren’t happy with the sound (it was 1st night of the tour). Once they went to b-stage we went back to watch

I thought the sound on night 1 was OK at least from where I was sitting (lower seats - 3rd/4th row maybe) off the right side of stage (Adam side).  Only song I thought had issues was The Troubles.  Too bad they abandoned it after that attempt.

I was at the bar outside our box and my buddy said the sound isn’t very good. A guy next to us in an Irish accent heard it and said “ya, we gotta get it fixed”. My buddy owns a company that does custom home audio and electronics and he had a 5 minute conversation with the Irish guys who work for U2. They said it’s typical 1st night to have to work out the kinks.

It sounds like the sound guys really had a sense of urgency to fix the sound that night.
