I'm gonna create a 12-song (or so) playlist called Songs of Ascent, which will include the band's more ambient stuff from SOE (BOYH, LIAWHL, etc.), SOI (SLABT, Troubles, etc.), NLOTH (Being Born, Winter, etc.), as well as some other non-LP material (Stateless, Never Let Me Go, etc.). Should be crackin.'

You going to include Soon on that? Sounds like a good idea. I might do the same. I already have a "Songs Of Innocence & Experience" playlist - basically all of SOE, minus YTBTAM, GOOYOW, AS & The Showman - replaced with BOYH, SLABT, TIWYCRMN & The Troubles

Yes, Soon is on it. Unfortunately, the only tracks that really qualify from SOE are LIAWHL, 13, and BOYH. And haha, your SOI&E playlist is identical to mine. Why am I not surprised....

I quite like the cover you chose... that would easily qualify as U2's best album art since Pop.

Yeah, and I also like how it presents the band as mature elder statesmen, which reflects the songs I chose for the playlist.

Songs of Mafia.

Gee, that's the "badass old Bono" I was hoping he'd be today, he looks angry and gnarly, not going to take shit. None of this lovey dovey woo-woo unicorn stuff!

Soon... wish they'd done more with it, such a beautiful song. I think Friday said something about wishing it was his.
The Edge: “[Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like [Zooropa]. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’”

We'd all love to see that, Edge.

Let Me In The Sound needs to be its own song. Mofo II.
The Edge: “[Eno] would love to see us making albums a bit more like [Zooropa]. Where we go, ‘You know what? We’re not going to second-guess any of this. Let’s just go for it.’”

Oh, how I wish they would dress like that instead of milking the twenty-something hipster doofus look for as long as they have.

Nice photo, Exile.  Also, I think "Soon" is stunning.  Would love to hear it on "Songs of Ascent", perhaps, as some have already said, in some expanded form.

Here's the playlist. "Someone into Home" is what I call my edit of Disappearing Act.

Thanks. Funny, as I was reading the title, I heard the lyrics.
