Very poor thing to do to paying public/your own fans. Even Axl Rose could turn up on time.....they hit stage on dot at 930.

This is the biggest festival in the world, the brand is worth millions. The whole thing rests on a flimsy paper foundation of the local council giving planning permission every year and a key condition of that consent will be the times they can have acts on the main stage. They’re not going to risk that permission because one mid tier act couldn’t turn up on time.

From Glastonbury last night.

Lana Del Rey headlined the Other Stage....

The US singer was half-an-hour later for her set, starting after 23:00 with an apology: "My hair takes so long to do... super sorry I'm so late."

When she finally began, her set was a lyrical, high-concept performance that featured ballet dancers and contortionists as Del Rey draped herself languidly across the stage.

Sadly, her late arrival clashed with Glastonbury's strict curfew. She cut several songs, telling the crowd: "I'm about to rush this set to death."

But it wasn't enough. Her mic was cut at midnight, with at least six songs left to play. A printed setlist suggested they'd have been some of her biggest songs, including Summertime Sadness and Video Games.

Clearly devastated, the singer tried to talk to her fans, who rewarded her by singing Video Games a capella, while chanting "one more song".

Del Rey sang along with them, then walked to the pit at the front of the stage, so they could console each other directly. After that, she had to leave, clearly devastated.

Alright love, calm down.

As a keen defender of value for money i would have thought you'd show more empathy for people there who had paid a lot of money in the expectation of seeing a full set from a stage headliner. There would have been many people there last night who pretty much went just to see LDR - she was bang out of line and frankly LL, you'd slag u2 to fuck for same thing.

Glastonbury features hundreds of artists. You could buy a ticket for the whole festival for the cost of a poxy U2 ticket. U2 audiences are made up of U2 fans. Totally different thing.

But why would you bother when die hards - like me - can see her at Hyde park for 1/3 of the price? I’m interested in almost no one else at Glastonbury and, frankly, anyone willing to put up with the toilets at festivals gets all the disappointment they deserve.

Only her fault for being 30 minutes late and only getting to do half her set. Get your hair done earlier in the day, which is an absolutely ridiculous excuse for a headline slot at Glastonbury.

Very poor thing to do to paying public/your own fans. Even Axl Rose could turn up on time.....they hit stage on dot at 930.

This is the biggest festival in the world, the brand is worth millions. The whole thing rests on a flimsy paper foundation of the local council giving planning permission every year and a key condition of that consent will be the times they can have acts on the main stage. They’re not going to risk that permission because one mid tier act couldn’t turn up on time.

Gotta say, though, last time I saw PJH I was so bored I left half way through and she turned up on time. It was at Brixton when she toured that godawful let England shake effort. Fortunately, the ticket was free courtesy of a Telegraph journalist.
