PowerTrip Festival in Palm Springs in October. Pretty much the A-list hard rock acts of the last 30 years. Could cut into the market for U2 at the Sphere in Vegas. Travelers may see more bang for their buck at this festival.

That Friday night lineup looks damn good. My buddies and I were talking about going to Palm Springs late October for a golfing trip. Maybe have to change it to early October.

No undercard really sucks, especially considering that half of these headliners aren't worth shit live anymore. You couldn't get me into night 2 at gunpoint.

Almost feel bad for Lars Ulrich, having to follow the greatest drummer alive, but Metallica's fans won't care. Personally, I'd be heading for the exit real fucking quick after Tool finishes their set.

GnR and Maiden are such an odd pairing; it could completely bomb or be beyond awesome.

I would say an A-list of hard rock acts of the last 45 years would be more accurate. As for U2, Powertrip is really a different crowd, its one weekend, 4 hours away from Vegas. Even if both events were happening in Los Angeles County, I don't think there would be an issue.

Night 1 is the one I'd be interested in. I last saw Maiden in 2019 and they were great as always. Best live band out there right now in my opinion. I saw GnR in 2017 and they were good but the show dragged a bit. Funny enough, I saw GnR open for Maiden in 1988 when I was in grade 8. Welcome to the Jungle was really the only song anyone knew at that point. I don't think Sweet Child O'Mine had broke yet. They would explode a few months later.

I looked into it and unfortunately you can only get tickets for the 3 day event, no single nights so i'll be out for this. Ozzy is at the point where he'll have to be wheeled out to sing. No thanks. AC DC are a shell of what they were. Not a Metallica or Tool fan.

Night 1's pairing is even more bizarre to me with each passing day, and that's a good thing. I'm assuming Maiden's going on first, which should light one huge fire under GnR's asses. That could end up being one legendary night right there.

Yup. I imagine Maiden will go on 1st. They play a pretty tight 2 hour set. Last time I saw GnR the biggest problem with the show was that it dragged in parts. Well over 30 songs. At this festival they’ll likely have to cut it back a bit and that could make for a great, tight set.

Like you said, could be an epic night.
