Festival tips?
« on: March 18, 2023, 12:49:26 PM »
Going to a musical festival this summer - very first festival for me.

Any tips? In terms of when to enter, what to bring (or not), methods of avoiding death and general discomfort.

I’ll be sure to wow wons by standing for 5 hours straight.

Take a plastic pisspot with a screw on lid.  You'll know it's full when your finger gets warm.

Just one. Small festival. Also no worries about violence or anything.

Which festival?

I have been to a few and the needs of the punter vary considerably...

It’s a polite, calm, gay festival. You could go to the Alexandra Palace date.

These are day events rather than festivals, yes?

I thought a festival was multiple artists, not necessarily multiple days.

It’s billed as a festival.

My understanding is a festival is an outdoor event over 2 or more days.

Guys, chill, yeah?

The distinction is important. For example, an outdoor festival over 2 or more days will present certain challenges vis a vis ablutions.

So, yeah. Chill.

Ok, well ‘festivals’ these days are anything but free. One can’t usually bring one’s own alcohol, for example. Even so, vodka and tonic, masquerading as bottled water, will usually fool the Nazis policing such events.

For ablutions, a lady must come prepared. Toilets tend to be a free for all and men aren’t so good with aiming.

If outdoors, a hat is essential.
